The Race Hustling MSNBC Tax Cheats are just the Tip of the Liberal Hypocrisy Iceberg

The fact that four MSNBC stars, all of whom must earn a pretty sweet 1% living, do not pay their taxes, should surprise no one. The Left is now officially the Do-As-I-Say-Not-As-I-Do Party on all issues, not just taxes, but also feminism, the environment, political contributions, and corporate windfalls.

As long as your politics are correct, if you are a Leftist-in-good-standing, no one in the media or on the Left cares about your hypocrisy. NRO’s Victor Davis Hanson laid this out brilliantly Monday:

Frequent White House guest Al Sharpton is a tax cheat, a homophobe, and an inciter of riot and mayhem, with a long history of racial disparagement. But he knows that all that private sin is contextualized by his loud sermonizing on the supposed racism of white America. Eric Holder can fly his daughters and their boyfriends to the Belmont Stakes on a government jet — but only because he is Eric Holder, who periodically blasts America’s supposed ethical reactionaries. …

Al Gore is so worried about how corporate culture promotes damage to the planet that he was forced to rake in hundreds of millions of dollars for his own green corporations to warn us about other such cynics. He is so shocked about CO2 emissions and the global petroleum culture that he unloaded his underperforming and overpriced cable channel to a carbon-exporting, anti-Jewish autocratic sheikhdom that paid him handsomely with its petrodollars. …

Michelle and Barack Obama are so concerned about global warming that not long ago they left two huge carbon footprints, when simultaneously they took separate government jumbo jets to fly out to Los Angeles to appear on separate talk shows. This was worthy of Leonardo DiCaprio, who on his private jet flew to conferences on the carbon excesses of hoi polloi. Elizabeth Warren is so committed to a fair and just society where egalitarianism is the shared goal, and where we assume that no one creates anything without the government, that she and her husband often augmented the generous incomes from their Harvard law professorships with lucrative corporate consulting to achieve 1 percenter status, with nearly $1 million in annual income.

Out of one side of her mouth, Hillary Clinton blasts money in politics while planning on raising a record $2.5 billion to become president. And how about the fact that her husband, a Neanderthal when it comes to women, passes muster with feminists.

Greenpeace Staff in Turmoil over Leadership Hypocrisy

Greenpeace is in turmoil after more than 40 staff signed a letter calling two of the group’s most senior officials to resign. The group faced ridicule last month after it emerged that Husting chose to regularly fly between his home in Luxembourg and work in Amsterdam, leaving a massive carbon footprint.

NL Times reports that staff members have now penned a letter to Husting and Greenpeace director Kuni Naidoo, calling for Husting’s sacking and also urging Naidoo to "consider his position", adding that only their departure can repair the damage they have caused the environmentalist group. 

The letter has spread among the group’s employees and has now been signed by almost all important campaign leaders and senior staff. Only Dutch director Sylvia Borren is missing, as she believes that dismissal is unnecessary.

Staff are also angry at Husting’s salary, believing it to be far too high. At €6,075 (£4,790/$8,170) a month, staff members say that the amount is "multiple times the average income and a lot of money for most of our supporters".

The letter adds that there is no way for the group to recover its reputation unless both Husting and Naidoo go, as keeping them on will continued to undermine their credibility.

Greenpeace Flavored Green Hypocrisy

 

One of Greenpeace’s most senior executives commutes 250 miles to work by plane, despite the environmental group’s campaign to curb air travel, it has emerged. 

Pascal Husting, Greenpeace International’s international programme director, said he began "commuting between Luxembourg and Amsterdam" when he took the job in 2012 and currently made the round trip about twice a month.

The flights, at 250 euros for a round trip, are funded by Greenpeace, despite its campaign to curb "the growth in aviation", which it says "is ruining our chances of stopping dangerous climate change”. 

One Greenpeace volunteer on Monday described Mr Husting's travel arrangements as "almost unbelievable". 

Another said they were cancelling their payments to support Greenpeace in the wake of the disclosure and series of other damaging revelations of of disarray and financial mismanagement at the organization, in documents leaked to the Guardian newspaper. 

Greenpeace was last week forced to apologise for a "serious error of judgment" after it emerged that it had lost £3m of public donations when a member of staff took part in unauthorised currency dealing. 

Each round-trip commute Mr Husting makes would generate 142kg of carbon dioxide emissions, according to airline KLM. 

That implies that over the past two years his commuting may have been responsible for 7.4 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions - the equivalent of consuming 17 barrels of oil, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency. 

But Mr Husting defended the arrangement, telling the Telegraph that while he would "rather not take" the journey it was necessary as it would otherwise be "a twelve hour round trip by train". 

"I spend half my life on skype and video conference calls," he said. "But as a senior manager, the people who work in my team sometimes need to meet me in the flesh, that’s why I’ve been going to Amsterdam twice a month while my team was being restructured." 

He said that from September he would switch to making the trip once a month by train due to "the work of restructuring my team coming to an end, and with my kids a little older". 

The head of Greenpeace in the UK on Monday denied that funding Mr Husting's commute showed a lack of integrity.

Fundraising Off Tragedies a Democrat Tradition

 

Democrats and the media have strongly condemned what they describe as a Republican effort to raise money off the tragedy.

Coffins of dead Iraq War soldiers
In July 2006, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) posted a video to its website featuring the coffins of American soldiers coming home from the Iraq War. The video, released ahead of the midterm elections that led to the House Speakership of Nancy Pelosi, featured an image of then-DCCC chairman Rahm Emanuel, who later became President Obama’s chief of staff.

The Boston Marathon bombings
Just one week after the April 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) plastered the image “B Strong,” with the Boston Red Sox logo representing the “B,” on its website and encouraged visitors to thank the emergency personnel who served at the previous week’s terrorist attack site.
Visitors were asked to provide their email addresses and zip codes on the website and to agree to allow the DNC to use their personal information for political and advertising purposes. If they chose to submit their personal information, visitors were sent an email from DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz encouraging them to share the DNC’s note of gratitude with their friends.

“We want to make sure that these true American heroes receive all the thanks they deserve,” Schultz wrote. “Can you help spread the word?” After receiving Republican backlash, then-DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse later said that the 30,000 emails his group collected would not be used for fundraising.

The Newtown elementary school shooting
In December 2012, just days after the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, Obama chief campaign advisor David Axelrod sent an email to campaign supporters featuring a link to President Obama’s address to the Newtown community. Two “Donate” buttons included in the email requested contributions of up to $1,000 for the recently-victorious Obama campaign.

Democratic Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy admitted in 2013 that Democratic lawmakers only told Newtown families why they were on a plane to Washington, D.C. for a political appearance after they were already on the plane.

“They thought they were coming down here to argue for a ban on high-capacity magazines and universal background checks, and we told them that they were coming to argue to avert a filibuster and allow us to debate,” Murphy said. “And that was really heartbreaking and deflating for some of them. But they rose to the occasion, and it was wonderful to see them at the end of the trip feeling like they had made a difference.”

On April 17, 2013, President Obama stood with Newtown families outside the White House after a Republican Senate filibuster blocked Obama’s background-checks gun control bill. Obama said “This was a pretty shameful day for Washington” and repeatedly referred to the Newtown families surrounding him.

Benghazi
The DCCC posted a statement from its chairman Steve Israel Thursday blasting Republican efforts to fundraise off Benghazi. The webpage featured a prominent “Contribute Now” button in the upper right-hand corner.

The NAACP planned a peaceful march to protest the requirement of voter ID laws at the "Moral March on Raleigh." 

Organizers said 20,000 to 30,000 Americans showed up to the protest. Rev. William Barber, president of the state NAACP, stated, "We return to Raleigh with a renewed strength and a renewed sense of urgency. This Moral March inaugurates a fresh year of grassroots empowerment, voter education, litigation and nonviolent direct action."

In a flyer sent out entitled “Important Do’s and Don’ts for Marchers,” some very responsible marching elements were listed for people's safety.

The most ironic recommendation on the list comes half way down, where march coordinators tell recipients: 

“DO bring photo identification (driver's license, passport or other valid photo ID) with you and keep it on your persons at all times.”

So, bring a photo ID to an anti-photo ID protest. Perfect. The Associated Press, naturally, buried this revelation late in its story:

Rep. David Lewis, R-Harnett, said Saturday the NAACP was being hypocritical for directing marchers on a document to bring photo identification when it opposes a photo ID requirement for voting. Lewis helped shepherd a voter ID law through the legislature.

Deadbeat Democrats Refuse to Pay Their Debts

Watchdog groups say the loan shows that Obama put political expediency above his pledge to run “the most transparent government in history,”

“It’s clear the administration is hypocritical.”

Despite Obama’s crackdown on emissions from coal-fired plants, Duke is one of at least a dozen firms exempted by the administration so it can pursue energy projects paid for by stimulus dollars, according to a report by the Center for Public Integrity.

 

 

The Democratic National Committee has no intention of repaying the country’s largest electrical power company for the unprecedented $10 million line of credit it guaranteed to help a local host committee fund last September’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

According to an article on the Washington Times web site, an official for Duke Energy said the company would claim the money as a business expense for tax purposes, meaning shareholders will foot $6 million of the cost.

The amount of the loan and the secrecy surrounding it has raised red flags for government watchdog groups.

They claim the arrangement smacks of serious conflict-of-interest issues for President Obama and disputes his claim to be committed to disclosure and transparency.

Since Duke Energy guaranteed the loan, the company had previously refused to issue any information regarding payment terms or when it would come due.

At the end of January, a Duke Energy spokesman referred all questions about the loan to Dan Murrey, a surgeon in Charlotte who acted as chairman of the convention host committee, which is an independent group affiliated with the DNC.

Murrey told The Washington Times only that the line of credit was with two banks — Bank of America and the Charlotte-based Mechanics & Farmers Bank.

“We are still finishing up some collections and disbursements related to the convention, and the account is still open,” Murrey said.

In 2011, The White House originally banned corporate donations to the convention, but with Democratic supporters intent on donating to what would become the most expensive presidential campaign in history, the host committee organizing the convention found itself strapped for cash and reversed the decision.

'I know the urge to arm yourself because that's what I did'

April 27, 1995, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) spoke at the US Senate hearing on terrorism shortly after the Oklahoma City bombing. 

During the hearing, she referenced her concealed carry permit and how she carried a gun with her in the 1970's, citing the urge to arm yourself for protection- in her case from threats.

She states:

"I know the sense of helplessness that people feel. I know the urge to arm yourself because that's what I did. I was trained in firearms. I walked to the hospital when my husband was sick. I carried a concealed weapon and I made the determination if somebody was going to try and take me out, I was going to take them with me."

In 1994, Sen. Feinstein championed the federal assault weapons ban which expired in 2004 due to sunset provisions in the law.

Now, after recent shooting tragedies, Feinstein is making another push for tighter gun control.

OBAMA STARTS MENTIONING CHRISTIAN FAITH WAY MORE OFTEN

While vacationing in Hawaii over the weekend, President Barack Obama and his family attended a church service Sunday, capping off a “steady rebirth” of his faith in recent months, marked by frequent public expressions of his Christianity.  According to Politico, President Obama has publicly mentioned his “Christian faith” more times over the past three months than he has over the past year.

Though some people have always harbored questions about the president’s personal beliefs, Obama’s Christian faith became a hot-button issue in recent months after the commander-in-chief repeatedly failed to mention "our Creator" in recitations of the Declaration of Independence and mistakenly identified “E pluribus unum” as America’s national motto instead of “In God We Trust” during a trip overseas.
